The Sauder 5-Shelf Split Bookcase is a sturdy, heavy-duty press board bookcase with an oiled oak finish that looks like real wood. The shelves are not all adjustable, but should fit scrapbooks at least on 3 of them. The bookcase dimensions are 70 inches tall, 35 3/8 inches wide, and 14.5 inches deep. There are warnings not to stand the unit upright until the back is on, and there is an off-gassing odor that may bother some people. The bookcase is not very stable on rugs and carpets. Although some reviewers had trouble with assembly, others found it easy. The bookcase has a few weaknesses, such as the top shelf section joining the bottom section, but it can be easily reinforced. Overall, the bookcase is a good value for the price.
