How do you know when the filter needs to be replaced? Are you supposed to keep track of how many liters you have used it for?
vastaus: When the filter slows, even after cleaning, or you can easily squeeze air through, it’s probably time to replace. Keeping track of liters won't tell you when to replace. -

vastaus: It is all one piece, you are looking at the entire filter - it includes the fliptop cap. -

Will this work with the Hydrapak Stash collapsible bottle?
vastaus: It can be installed with stash 750 mL but not with stash 1,000 mL. -

Any recommendations for a higher quality, larger bag to go with this?
vastaus: I recommend the Hydrapak Seeker. It is the best and most rugged water container to pair with this filter. -

vastaus: It only fits Katadyn BeFree bottles, this is the replacement filter element for them. -

How is the filter cleaned since there is no way to backflush?
vastaus: The Ez-clean Membrane can be cleaned by shaking or swishing the filter, no back flushing or extra tools required. -

Does the filter material still filter as advertised after thawing should water be frozen in the filter material?
vastaus: No, if the filter is frozen it can damage it and microorganisms could pass through. Don't let it freeze. -

Will this fit on the Hydrapak Seeker 4 liter?
vastaus: I don't have a Seeker 4lt, but it should fit as they both have a 42mm thread. -

Will this fit a regular water bottle?
vastaus: No, the filter fits into a wide opening. However, the top part can be replaced by a smart water sport top. -
