Blue Sea Systems Wire 1007 Editorial Review

The Blue Sea Systems Side Entry CableClam is a versatile waterproof solution for passing cables through a hull or deck fitting. Customers have used it successfully for marine cables, power cables for outboard motors, and even for solar panel cables on RVs. The outside diameter is 2 inches, and it comes with screws for mounting. The center hole is 1 inch and the cable notch is 1/4 inch. To prevent water intrusion, customers recommend applying a light amount of silicon around the edges and wire passage. Mounting on a horizontal surface is possible with the same recommendation. The gasket thickness is approximately 5/8 inch. The product's strengths are its versatility and waterproof design, but it may require additional sealing and installation precautions depending on the application. It's also unclear how to install the product for indoor use.
