John Logan, Garrettu2019s best friend from The Deal, starts off the story dreading his final year in college. His dream to play in the NHL never to be realized, as heu2019s going to stay home and take care of his alcoholic father and the family business, and he's crushing on his best friend's gal, Hannah (the heroine from The Deal). So he drowns his sorrows in booze and women, not necessarily in that order. Then he meets Grace Ivers, shy freshman. He hooks up with her but manages to screw it up. Thankfully, heu2019s not a quitter, and yes, romance happens.rnrnThe Good, The Bad and Everything In Betweenrnrn-Elle Kennedy really has a knack for the sexy-funny: Truly, my favorite type of love story is the sexy and funny, and Ms. Kennedyu2019s brilliant at it. The u2018verse sheu2019s created at Briar University is fun to visit and Iu2019m intrigued with all the characters, not just the leads in each story.rnrn-Logan and Grace bring the heat: The sex scenes start slowly, and build well. Thereu2019s no lack of fooling around, so I was surprised when I realized that they didnu2019t make love until late in the book. I enjoyed that it isnu2019t perfect from the beginning, but really gets better as they get to know each other, much like a real relationship. Also, Iu2019m not gonna lie - give me a hero who loves his oral, and Iu2019ll show you a keeper. Loganu2019s love of the downtown was fantastic, and I liked that he was kind and gentle with Grace, never pressuring her to do anything she didnu2019t want to do.rnrn-Logan gives good grovel...and he has to: He screws up, more than once, because while I love him, heu2019s a bit of a butthead. But itu2019s the test of a man who gets back up when he falls down, and Logan does. The scenes where he works hard at getting back into Graceu2019s good...um, graces :), are funny and lead to some of the best moments in the book. Even when he screws up, I didnu2019t hate it, mostly just felt like nudging the knucklehead and setting him straight. Itu2019s an excellent balance to the serious moments, like...rnrn-A bit of serious mixed in with the lighthearted: Logan is the child of an alcoholic and I think this fairly serious issue is handled well. It gives a poignant twist to a generally lighthearted tale. Itu2019s so believable when heu2019s torn between living the life heu2019s always dreamed of, and taking care of his father. It gives an unexpected depth to Loganu2019s character that I enjoyed. I think itu2019s resolved fairly quickly, but I didnu2019t mind.rnrn-Grace is great: Iu2019ve always enjoy seeing heroines who stand up for themselves, who can go toe to toe with their men and think for themselves. This series has had Hannah and now Grace as excellent examples of how you do strong new adult romantic heroines.rnrnGrace doesnu2019t just roll over for the hot jock and I respected her for it. Sheu2019s endearingly awkward, babbles when sheu2019s nervous, but underneath it all, sheu2019s no pushover. She values herself and sheu2019s empathetic to Logan when he needs it, stubborn when he doesnu2019t. Loved her.rnrn-Canu2019t wait for more: Iu2019m convinced menage is in the future of this series (yeah, Iu2019m looking at you Dean) and if it is? I. Canu2019t. Wait. Elle Kennedy knows her way around a menage *fans self*, so it should be massively sexy and entertaining.rnrn-The only reason itu2019s not a five star: So I shaved a shade off the top because of a couple things: Loganu2019s almost hookup and lingering crush on Hannah. I know, he didnu2019t, but Iu2019m a jealous gal and I didnu2019t like that he even attempted it. Also, Logan and Grace are sweet but predictable. Doesnu2019t matter though, I still had fun reading this.rnrnThe Bottom Line (4.75 stars)rnI really enjoyed this (slightly bitter but) mostly sweet, funny story, almost as much as I loved the Deal. If youu2019re in the mood for a good NA romance, look no further than Elle Kennedyu2019s Off-Campus series. I highly recommend it.rnrn**ARC provided for review**

Red, White & Royal Blue proves: true love isn't always diplomatic.

I need a lifetime supply of Kleenex and a trophy that says Best Book of 2019 to give to Casey McQuiston. My heart now has a space carved out that belongs to Alex Claremont-Diaz and Prince Henry Windsor, to Red, White & Royal Blue, to all of us readers left in a puddle of tears caused by this beautiful, poignant story. Not only is this book an incredible LGBTQ+ enemies to lovers romance, it's also the book you didn't even know you needed in our present political climate. I didn't even know I needed it and now I can't shut up about it. I said it in one of my Instagram stories, I wish I had this book in my hands when I was 18 and preparing to vote for the very first time. I wish I had all the thoughts I have now in my head, but at least I've got them now, and hey a Presidential election is on the horizon.rnrn"History, huh?"rnrnCute, funny, and full of heart, Red, White & Royal Blue follows Alex Claremont-Diaz, son to the President of the United States, as he is forced to befriend Prince Henry Windsor, Prince of England to be exact, at least for the media. Alex is the Mexican-American first son to the democratic FEMALE President and he has high hopes of joining the political world alongside his mother. He sees the title President in his future, but that won't happen as long as he is considered the enemy of the Prince of England, which he really is. Prince Henry Windsor, who we shall now just call Henry, is the quiet, arrogant, well-dressed grandson of the Queen. He is charity events, forced smiles, and a media golden child, at least to Alex. When they're forced to hang out in order to put the media storm to rest they discover that they have quite a bit in common and soon their alliance forms into a friendship. Their friendship leads to some startling discoveries for Alex, like he's bisexual, and some timid sharing from Henry, a closeted gay thanks to familial and societal expectations. What started as a laugh-out-loud story of forced friendship soon became a story of heartbreak, hope, and humanity as Alex and Henry explore their blossoming desires for one another. Their romance is told through in person-interactions, texts, phone calls, and the best emails I have ever read. It's an authentic story about two young men discovering their identities and figuring out the shape and direction of their futures, all with an ocean and several titles between them.rnrn"Whatever, fine. Henry is annoyingly attractive. That's always been a thing, objectively. It's fine."rnrnCasey McQuiston created an entirely new world in Red, White & Royal Blue. Sure, it's America and England, but it's a world with diverse leaders who desire to make positive changes, who truly fight for the people. Alex and Henry know their position and their families' position in the public will make their relationship, their identities, more difficult to embrace, and yet Casey creates for them a world in which they recognize there is strength and power in owning it. Their friends and families, and employees, come from diverse backgrounds, have various heritages, and love freely. Many are out and proud, many wear that culture proudly, Alex and Henry have just not yet found their footing among them. I loved the secondary characters in this novel just as much as I loved our two main heroes. Speaking of secondary characters and world building, I am obsessed with the character interactions in this book. The relationships felt fluid and natural, there is no stilted dialogue. The characters speak and think like their age, their humor is spot on, and the romance is fresh and new feeling. The language, the prose, all of it just made this book that much better for me. I could live in these pages and I mean that quite sincerely, snotty sobbing and all, this book holds a story I want to live and I'm thankful Casey McQuiston gave me the opportunity to do so with her words.rnrn"Straight people, he thinks, probably don't spend this much time convincing themselves the're straight."rnrnRoyal romance, politics, and everyone writing about their heart and their tears? Not normally my cuppa tea. I saw the reviews for this though, they were darn good, and one of my closets friends said it was a must-read for my June Pride reading challenge, she also included it was her favorite for the year, so I picked it up and now I do not want to put it down. For the six hours I read this book I sincerely believed every single character was a real person in my life. I was either crying, making heart eyes, or preparing to go fight alongside them. Red, White & Royal Blue took me on the cutest adventure ever and my emotions were not prepared for all the adorable, painful, and realistic moments in is pages. Not only do I wholeheartedly recommend this novel, I also think it should be a must read. It's important, while also being the feel-good story we need.

If you want to step into the past with captivating stories, where corsets, castles, and strict social rules govern courtship. These books from authors like Julia Quinn transport you completely and take you to eras like the Victorian or Regency period. See how many users loved reading them and appreciated these novels on Reddit.

I've read quite a few of these and many of my ratings are very similar to yours. I'm so glad you enjoyed Laura Kinsale too, her books are such classics. It was very thoughtful of you to take the time to share all of this with us. I really appreciate it!

While reading, you might find a duke and a commoner falling in love. They often feature witty banter and intense slow burns, and take you to a whole new world like the fiction books. Choose them for building a detailed world and feel that delicious tension of forbidden love. They remind us of love that truly conquers all, even without Wi-Fi.

Romantic Fantasy Books

If magic, fictional creatures, and wonderful journeys are your love, but with a strong love story at the core, this genre is best for you. The romantic suspense books are detailed, feature terrific plots, and take you to stunning worlds.

However, the central relationship drives the overall narrative. Romantic fantasy books are perfect when you want passion and destiny with tales of dragons and prophecies. They use the extraordinary to make the love feel even more powerful and fated.

Romantic Comedy Books

Do you need a laugh along with your craving? If yes, get the Rom-coms from authors like Emily Henry that pair humour with heart, focus on light-hearted crosstalks, funny misunderstandings, and awkward meet-ups. These books are designed to be fun and feel-good.

They feature protagonists to make you chuckle while you go through them. They are an excellent choice for a mental break and give you a boost of genuine happiness. Grab a piece when your life gets heavy, and experience that funny misadventure to make you delighted.

Dark Romance Novels

These stories deal with intense taboos and themes, and feature complex characters. These novels sometimes highlight morally grey intentions. Dark romance novels offer a deep dive into passionate, dramatic relationships, with anxious plotlines and deep emotional journeys.

They are definitely perfect for the readers who prefer high emotional intensity and dark tones over typical sweetness. While they are not meant for everyone, they deliver a powerful, unforgettable reading experience that thrills your nerves. Have a look at readers who crave such type of novels and shared their experience on Reddit after reading them.

Some of my favorite darker romances are:

The Royals of Forsyth series (if you’re at all open to RH I’d recommend these) {Lords of Pain by Angela Lawson}

{Swallow it Down by Addison Cain} - post-apocalyptic

{Does it Hurt by H.D. Carlton} - contemporary horror/mystery

{King of Flesh and Bone by Liv Zander} - fantasy

{Master of Salt and Bones by Keri Lake} - contemporary

If you really like over the top toxicity, {Flames of Chaos by Amelia Hutchins} - fantasy; personally I think the writing isn’t great but was immediately invested because it’s SO toxic I couldn’t stop reading.
