Wing-A-Lop

My old blade, I could feel heat in it after making a smoothie. After a few years, it got so it was hard to turn, even so much that it would slow down the motor from turning at full speed, and the center of the blade felt very warm. After I added a few drops of 3 in 1 oil to the bottom center of the 7 rubber fins so it would penetrate into the blade spindle, I noticed the next day that it turned freely again like it did when it was new. Then I didn't need the new blade, but will keep it on hand for the future.

I think this one has a higher quality gasket around the blade. Nice and quiet, no vibration.

All I can say is DO NOT THROW AWAY your Ninja when you start to see leakage (mostly a brownish color once it goes through the bearing) on the base, or it starts to sound labored or louder. I have found that the replacement blade part of the Ninja is almost disposable - we probably have replaced it every 3-6 months. I have bought these replacement blades in a two-pack at least 3-4 times (the main - expensive - Ninja base is fine). My original Ninja purchase was one with additional options - including the larger blender, the drink cups, etc, so didn't want to just pitch it. It is crazy to think that the blade part goes bad so frequently, but the bearing does take a beating and buying these replacements is the best economical (and even eco) option. Just wish the blade component lasted longer - but can't fault the replacement blades for that - so "5 stars" on functionality!
